Minster at Large

Note: Sometimes we have more power than we think we do.

We woke up in the middle of the night

With a severe pain in our gut.

We couldn’t sleep.

We could barely breathe.

We wondered what we had done wrong.

We preferred the monster simply dissipate,

Crawl off to the curdled swamp from whence it came.

If we had to shoot, we would.

But we preferred another way.

With all our soul,

And all our might,

And all our love,

We purged the poison beast

We commanded our body so

To secure some relief

Pain and fear ruin what we hold dear:

Goals, roles, love

To see absolutely clear.

To heal oneself,

To be oneself,

To hold on while letting go.

To breed by self.

And not cheat yourself.

To minister at large.
