The Presbyterian News Service of the Presbyterian Church (USA) posted a story on First Presbyterian Church of Columbus, Indiana’s 200th anniversary on its website on Sept. 18, 2024. Read the story here.
The story talks about the “Salt and Light” Scripture” that the Rev. Tony Larson, Co-Moderator of the 226th General Assembly, preached on at the service on Sept. 15 at the church. The story also touches on all the various details during service that pointed not only to the 200 years of this church, but the 2,000 years of Christ’s church. Celebrants also scooped up hot-off-the-presses copies of Paul J. Hoffman’s “200 Years of First Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Indiana.” A former journalist, Hoffman is an FPC member.
