Why did The History Press want to publish the book?

“We were excited to publish this book because it’s such a compelling (and heartbreaking) story. Paul’s three part series he wrote last year for the Wauwatosa NOW paper about the case and the 85^th anniversary of Buddy’s death generated interest from the community. People wanted more information, and we thought a book on the subject was the best way to get it to them. Paul’s connection to the area also interested us. He grew up in a house sold to his family by Buddy’s father. He went to school in Wauwatosa and later to college in Milwaukee at the University of Wisconsin.”
