Paul Hoffman is a former career journalist who has a heart for serving his community.
Since leaving the journalism profession in 2019, he has purchased a book publishing company, gotten involved in advocating for permanent supportive housing, mental health initiatives, and supporting public libraries and public schools. A graduate of Leadership Johnson County, he's previously run for city council and county council, and is currently running for Columbus Township Trustee in Bartholomew County, Indiana.
The owner of PathBinder Publishing LLC, he also has three nonfiction books published: "Murder in Wauwatosa: The Mysterious Death of Buddy Schumacher", "Wicked Columbus, Indiana", and "200 Years of First Presbyterian Church of Columbus, Indiana".
His journalism experience includes work as a sports writer, sports editor, news editor, and special publications editor.
He's served as an elder and Clerk of Session with First Presbyterian Church in Columbus since January 2025. He has also served on the social justice, bicentennial, and permanent supportive housing committees there.
He also served as a youth soccer coach and Cubmaster for a Cub Scout pack in Shelbyville.
Paul has lived in Columbus since 2009 with his wife, Kimberly. He has three daughters, a son, two stepdaughters, and a granddaughter.
