Feb. 9, 2020 Howdy, folks. It has come to my attention that there is no subscribe button on my home page. I wondered how this could be as the number of followers this site has is into triple digits. How did 100-plus people subscribe to this site if there is no subscribe button? Well, as... Continue Reading →
Number One on a National List
Found out this morning that "Wicked Columbus, Indiana" has made the top spot on Amazon's Indianapolis Travel Books best seller list. I am fairly certain that neither of my books have ever maintained the No. 1 rank on any of Amazon's lists. The paperback version of the book has shot up the lists in the... Continue Reading →
Updates on me, my next book and whatever else I feel like telling you
I am eating Wisconsin cheese curds, drinking cold brew coffee (honey caramel flavor if you must know), and trying very hard to get a lot of things accomplished. I have already finished eating three blueberry pancakes that had been in deep freeze until my microwave admirably performed its duty. But I have done more than... Continue Reading →

A new chapter in my career
So here's a bit of a major announcement regarding my career. After 34 years in journalism, including nearly 20 at my present company, I've decided to give full-time attention to being an author. My last day with a full-time day job will be Sept. 27. I've wanted to make this move for years ... ever since... Continue Reading →
We’re No. 1! – BOTH of us
So, my wife and I made history (probably) today. We both sit atop our respective categories on our local bookstore's bestseller list. Not sure if any husband/wife team has ever done that. But if they did, then we tied them. So below is the proof (scroll down to the red text). If you want to... Continue Reading →
We’re both bestsellers!
Hey! My wife and I are on the local bookstore's bestseller list for the week. That hasn't happened for a while. Kimberly S. Hoffman's newest book, "Cleo and Roger Discover Columbus, Indiana," is the first for kids focusing on Columbus architecture (and there's lots of groovy architecture here). My "Wicked Columbus, Indiana" keeps hanging in... Continue Reading →
Save money on admission to the Indianapolis Christmas Gift + Hobby Show

So click here instead and you can save $3 on admission to the Indianapolis Christmas Gift + Hobby Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Go to the website for all the details,... Helping celebrate a birthday
Kimberly S. Hoffman and I conducted a book signing to help Wild Geese Bookshop celebrate its second birthday on Saturday, Nov. 3. There were cupcakes, balloons, a food truck and lots of books. We enjoyed it immensely. The event coincided with the Downtown Franklin Holiday Open House. So there were people everywhere ... I mean everywhere!
ICYMI: Wicked video from Columbus Past presentation
In case you missed it (that's what ICYMI means), here is video of the "Wicked Columbus, Indiana" presentation at Ivy Tech Community College on Oct. 25. The program was the first part of the school's Columbus Past, Present and Future series, which is in it's second year. A good time was had by all who... Continue Reading →
