I thought this was going to slow down a bit, but all of a sudden... *I'll be doing an interview with M Magazine soon for an upcoming issue. M Magazine bills itself as Milwaukee's Lifestyle Magazine. There is a digital version and a print version. *Working on setting up a date in early 2013 to speak... Continue Reading →
Some puzzling questions
My most puzzling questions as they relate to the Buddy Schumacher case are: *Where did the handkerchief come from that killed Buddy? With such a fancy letter embroidered, it certainly didn’t belong to the first man questioned, Edward Vreeland, a hobo hanging around the outskirts of town. Not that he might not have used it... Updates, updates and yet more updates
It's finally time to exhale. After a couple of months of book signings, talks and several trips to the Milwaukee area, my schedule (where my book is concerned anyway) has finally settled down just a bit. We had 11 author events in the past three months, highlighted by a three-suburb, one-day tour in the Milwaukee... Continue Reading →
Fun at the Rosebud
This was one of my favorite gigs thus far. We were able to put our PowerPoint presentation up on the big screen at the Rosebud Cinema Drafthouse on Saturday morning, Oct. 13. We managed to overcome a few hurdles, such as a sound system that was on the fritz (I projected very well, I am... Continue Reading →
Costco book signings – Oct. 13, 2012
Part of the whirlwind tour of Milwaukee on Oct. 13 included two book signings at Costco Warehouses. First, in Grafton, then in Pewaukee. My wife and I had a lot of fun meeting people, eating free samples of food and selling some books. These photos are from the Pewaukee leg of the adventure.
Some great news!
It's been a great hour or two here tonight. 1) Jim Higgins of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel posted a very nice review of the book and announcement of my busy schedule this coming Saturday. This is Milwaukee's major metropolitan daily newspaper.2) WUWM 89.7FM Milwaukee will re-run my interview on the Buddy Schumacher book tomorrow (Oct. 9) about... Continue Reading →
The Mix has closed
The Mix, my favorite place to obtain crazy flavored cupcakes (maple bacon anyone?) AND old LPs has closed. The Columbus (Ind.) combination bakery/used record store is closing and moving to Bloomington. The folks there were kind enough to have my book available for sale there. I wish them luck in their new location!
Watch the Fox-6 TV interview
Here's the entirety of my WITI Fox-6 TV interview with Brad Hicks, done live in studio on Sept. 23, 2012. I really enjoyed my time there. Thanks to my brother, Andy, for uploading the video to YouTube. A little about the experience, my first TV interview ever: This was the first of two trips to... Continue Reading →
Wauwatosa Library program
I was able to present a program on my book at the Wauwatosa Public Library on Sept. 25, 2012. This is my hometown library, and I was thrilled to see so many former neighbors, classmates and co-workers there. Thanks to Cathy Breitenbucher for server as staff photographer on this one! And thanks to everyone who... Continue Reading →
